The Making Of An Intuitive Soul

In our common understanding, an intuitive is someone who, unlike the average person, can sense beyond the visible — attuned to energies, subtle realms, and truths that can’t be measured or explained by logic alone. They are often seen as soul-listeners, people who move through life guided by an unseen current of knowing.

Intuition, however, is not the gift of a select few—it is a fundamental part of our sacred human design. We are all intuitive beings, each born with this inner knowing: a pure fitrah that points toward truth and harmony.

So what sets intuitives apart from the rest of us?

In the way I’ve come to see it, intuitives are shaped from the very beginning of life. While intuition is strong from birth, its unfolding depends on the energetic cocoon into which the child arrives. Just as a newborn’s immune system leans on the mother’s immunity - first through the placenta, then through breastmilk - until it matures and can stand on its own, so too does the child’s intuition rely on the mother’s energetic field to grow in balance and develop healthy protective boundaries.

When the mother’s energy is calm, coherent and balanced, her energetic embrace teaches the child how to protect, nurture and channel their inner light. Intuition grows strong yet steady, becoming a source of clarity that is grounded and whole, woven seamlessly into the rhythms of life.

But when the mother’s energetic embrace is absent, chaotic, or lacking clear boundaries, it puts a different, yet equally, strong imprint on the child's energetic field, leaving it unbalanced and unprotected. Intuition then burns brightly but is unruly and chaotic.

These are the children that grow up to be intuitives. Their gift is undeniable, yet it rarely feels like a gift at first. They feel, sense and perceive deeply, but without natural protection, the sheer flood of impressions can overwhelm them. It can take years—often, decades—for an intuitive to build the energetic boundaries their early environment did not provide. Only then does their intuition become grounded and integrated, no longer scattering their energy, but serving as a steady source of guidance and strength.

Beyond the mother, society itself becomes the next great teacher. Some cultures honour intuition, weaving it into daily life and sacred practice. In such places, the intuitive gift is affirmed and guided. But in the modern world, intuition is too often dismissed, leaving intuitives doubly burdened: carrying both the weight of their unruly gift and the pressure to silence it.

This is the way I’ve come to see what shapes the rise of intuitives — not as rare beings set apart, but as a reflection of what lives in all of us. Every soul is born with this innate gift; it is the energetic and cultural environments around us that shape how it blossoms. In the embrace of love and protection, intuition—whether quiet or blazing—finds its balance. And from that balance, a child may one day walk freely, aligned with their own inner knowing, strong in their boundaries, and luminous in their authenticity.
